Overview
Living Water was established in 1989 by Jane and David Shields with the aim of introducing an ecological approach to the purification of water. Since 1989, Living Water has carried out consultancy, waste and watershed management work and the design and implementation of a range of ecological treatment systems for clients including:
- WWF
- The National Trust (England and Wales)
- The National Trust for Scotland
- The Body Shop International
- Regional and City Councils
- CSC Forest Products (formerly Norbord Highland)
- Architects
- Engineers
- Developers
- Householders
Many disciplines and professions apply to and overlap in this enterprise. Living Water has been able to bring together a wide range of expertise to provide a unique service which produces harmonious and complete solutions.
As part of our work, we assess the problem, look at waste minimisation as a first step and the utilisation of the waste as a resource. We determine the most appropriate solution and then design and implement. We specify native species and include local wildflowers and woodlands as part of a treatment design or landscape plan to stimulate wildlife and habitat diversity.
